Coal Mining
This strategic move to diversify into coal mining addresses an important business risk identified at IPO – the security and stability of our coal supply.
We hold interests in five coal mining assets in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. PT Tri Oetama Persada (“PT TRIOP”) is held through our subsidiary, while PT Persada Kapuas Prima, PT Pesona Bara Cakrawala, PT Cakrawala Bara Persada and PT Pasir Bara Prima are held as associated companies of the Group.
The PT TRIOP coal mine, in which we hold an effective 35.68% interest, has a total estimated proved and probable reserves of over 60 million tonnes1, with GAR (Gross As Received) calorific value exceeding 4,000 kcal/kg1.
By diversifying into coal mining, we have added a synergistic income pillar and created a vertically-integrated business model, allowing the Group to capture margins across the entire coal supply chain, from mining and sales to direct delivery to customers.
